Source One is an Atlanta-based DJ and producer. Born in Shiraz, Iran, raised in Germany until age 14 , and resided in the U.S. since 1998, he grew up with a mix of middle eastern folk music and western-influenced genres such as rap and soul. In 2002, he began producing beats and creating music through the use of sampling and editing. Self-taught and influenced by artists such as DJ Shadow, Rjd2, El-P and others, he released his first project rightfully titled Building Blocks EP.

Working with like-minded Atlanta artists in the local hip hop scene, his production became more complex, sound more layered, and taste in styles of music grew exponentially to genres of electro, dubstep, house, and glitch hop. His first full-length LP Children of the Third exemplified the direction his work was taking, along the lines of producers such as Prefuse 73, The Glitch Mob, and Flying Lotus.

Source One currently resides in the heart of downtown Atlanta, immersed in a diversity of cultures and sounds ranging from 808 beats to future-soul to jersey club. His DJ career began in mid-2012 and he has played in a variety of clubs, venues & galleries such as the High Museum, The Music Room, The W Hotel, and the annual arts festival FLUX.
